Views from above The Apple Tree

Joel Korn Counselling is pleased to announce that it is moving to the heart of Clerkenwell. To a therapy room above The Apple Tree Public House. The Apple Tree Public House has a long history dating back to 1833 and so it has solid foundations to support you to sort out your emotional basement. As I go into my tenth year in my Private Counselling Practice, I hope for a long future above ‘The Apple Tree’. I am happy to join Natalie Clarke an Integrative Therapist, and a growing group of LGBT+ friendly therapists working there.

Joel Korn is an Integrative Body and Trauma Counsellor and Supervisor and has worked and volunteered in the LGBT Community for twenty years. Joel works with both short-term and long-term clients. Joel has experience of working with a range of issues including: alcohol, aging, bereavement, ChemSex, drugs, end of life care, gender identity, kink, hepatitis, HIV, relationships, sex, sexual expression, sexuality and many more.

The Apple Tree is a quirky, colourful, non-conformist venue in Clerkenwell, London. They offer a safe home to those living alternative lifestyles and the LGBTQ+ communities and everyone is welcome under our branches: all races, genders, sexualities, ages* and dogs! The venue has a delightful vegan restaurant downstairs that is open in the evenings. I am pleased that The Apple Tree has embraced the need for well-being services within our LGBTQ+ community.

Come to sort out your emotional basement (upstairs!) and then go for tasty food, amazing cabaret, weekend discos, and experience the wonderfully welcoming team downstairs, particularly if you are finding your feet within the LGBTQ+ community. This is a nice friendly environment to try out before you feel the need to dive in.

Currently, I have slots available on a Tuesday daytime and I will soon have spaces available on a Thursday too.

I look forward to welcoming you to my new location, lets enjoy the views above The Apple Tree together. Joel Korn Counselling is here to support you through every step of the rainbow!

World AIDS Day 1st December 2018: Dearest Mark

World AIDS Day 1st December 2018: Dearest Mark

My first boyfriend Mark died rom HIV when I was just 18 years old. I have come to the realisation that Mark is still alive in me. The love and compassion I have for him is still alive today. He is the person who helps me find the drive for my work in the HIV community today.
